Getting to Know You: Part Three

Last intro post 🙂

Well, as you can tell, I’m a writer. So, what am I working on?

I’m in the process of looking for an agent to represent The Warrior Groom, the first in a Regency romance trilogy. The Warrior Groom is a reimagining of My Fair Lady where Henry Higgins asks Eliza for deportment lessons. Katherine Burns embraces the independent writing life modeled by Jane Austen, convinced she’s too old to marry.  A Hero of the Napoleonic Wars, Colonel Aidan Cavanaugh has never set foot in England before, but as a new Marquess, he must learn societies rules before anyone finds him wanting.  Hoping she’ll fall in love with him along the way, Aidan asks Katherine to teach him the dos and don’ts of the ton. When real life interrupts their romantic interlude, they’re forced to deal with family problems and social expectations, ultimately examining the walls they’ve built around themselves in an effort to remain independent.

While looking for an agent, I working on another novel (my third), a still untitled contemporary romance with a paranormal twist. Basically, it is a re-imagining of the story of Cupid and his true love Psyche with a distinctly modern take on the story. Until it’s closer to finished, I’ll keep the rest of the details to myself 🙂

I’m also considering what to work on next. Thinking something with fairies or pirates, but not sure which yet 🙂 I’ll post more interesting details about my novels in the “Works” section of this page as soon as I get it up and running (later this week).

P.S. yes, I only mentioned 2 novels. There’s a reason. Now that I’m a bit more familiar with the industry, I see that novel 1 needs a lot of work before it is publishable. It’ll have to wait a while 🙂
